iGotOne

iCaved and bought an iPod Nano. 4gb, generation three.

I've been thinking about it for awhile, watching Sean and Emily enjoy theirs. And I did it. I broke down and bought one this past weekend. I'm not one to brag of my music collection, but 4gb is full.

It's pretty awesome.

I made this announcement Sunday morning at the breakfast table: "I hereby declare my right to ignore anyone at any time in favor of whatever happens to be playing on my iPod at the moment."

Sean's response: Hey! Welcome to the club! <big smile>

Emily's response: ha ha! I do that!

Barb's response: Oh dear god, that leaves me only the dog to talk to now.

Later that day I was in the kitchen and Sean asked me something. While he was talking, I removed one ear bud, looked at him and said, "Are you talking to me?" He laughed and quickly instructed me on the proper way of the Pod.

"No, no." he said. "You have to look right at them while they're talking to you, wait until they're done talking, and then remove the ear bud and say 'did you say something?'"

I've been trained by an expert. Watch out you all!

I love my iPod, but it's one of the older gen4 "photo" ones. I need a new one, between the kids spilling apple juice on it to the size/weight. I have a Korean MP4 player that's small and light, but it's very flaky. I'm debating between a Nano and a Touch. Either way, I'd only get a very small fraction of my music on there at a time, which is fine since I'll likely synch before listening to it all anyway.

I have all my music on it with room to spare. It's been awhile since I collected music...

But so far I love it! I bought an adapter for my car, too, so no more need for lugging CDs around.

That's the best part. The trick is not to play with it while driving.

Ummm.... after Barb's comment, you realize that you HAVE to get your dog an iPod. (evil laughter)
